Course Pathways

Level 4 Ofqual-Regulated
Beginner Qualifications
Begin your permanent makeup career with strong foundations and a recognised qualification pathway.
The beginner route provides comprehensive education for students entering the permanent makeup industry without an existing PMU qualification.
You will develop the theory, practical skills and professional understanding needed to begin working safely and responsibly. Learning continues beyond the classroom through guided practice, case studies, assessment and portfolio development.
Training covers areas such as:
Health, safety and infection prevention
Anatomy, physiology and skin science
Consultation and client assessment
Contraindications and treatment planning
Colour and pigment theory
Needle configurations and equipment
Machine control and pigment implantation
Mapping and treatment design
Practical treatment skills
Healing, aftercare and retention
Managing complications and unexpected outcomes
Photography, record keeping and professional standards
Case studies, assessment and portfolio completion
Building confidence for independent practice
Level 4 beginner training requires commitment. Classroom attendance is only one part of the learning process; students must also be prepared to practise, complete theory work, produce case studies and respond to feedback.
Best suited to: Beginners who want a thorough entry into permanent makeup through a regulated qualification route.
Level 4 Ofqual-Regulated
Conversion Pathway
Convert your existing permanent makeup education into a regulated Level 4 qualification.
This route is designed for experienced permanent makeup artists who have already completed substantial training and practical work but now need to meet the requirements of a Level 4 regulated qualification.
Your previous education and experience will be reviewed to determine whether the conversion route is appropriate. You will then complete the required learning, practical assessment, evidence and portfolio work necessary to demonstrate that you meet the qualification standards.
The programme may include:
Initial assessment of qualifications and experience
Identification of knowledge or evidence gaps
Level 4 theory and underpinning knowledge
Health, safety and infection prevention
Anatomy, physiology and skin science
Client consultation and treatment planning
Practical observation and assessment
Case studies and portfolio development
Reflective practice
Ongoing tutor and assessor support
This is not a quick certificate or attendance-only course. It is a structured route towards demonstrating the knowledge, practical ability and professional standards required by the qualification.
Best suited to: Established permanent makeup artists with suitable previous training and industry experience.
