Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt?
Everyone's pain tolerance is different, but most clients find the treatment far more comfortable than they expected. Many describe the sensation as light scratching or gentle vibration rather than pain. I'll explain exactly what to expect during your consultation and do everything I can to ensure you're comfortable throughout your appointment.
How long does it last?
Permanent makeup typically lasts 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare routine and the treatment area. Regular colour refresh appointments help maintain beautiful, natural-looking results.
How many appointments will I need?
Most clients require two appointments, your initial treatment followed by a perfecting appointment around 6–12 weeks later. Occasionally, additional sessions may be recommended depending on your skin or previous permanent makeup.
Can old PMU be corrected?
Sometimes, yes. During your consultation I'll assess your existing permanent makeup and advise whether correction, colour adjustment or pigment removal is the most appropriate approach. I'll also explain the different methods for removal if it's necessary. Every case is unique, so treatment recommendations are always personalised.
How do brows heal?
Brows will appear darker immediately after treatment before gradually softening as they heal. It's also normal for the colour to fade noticeably before returning over the following few weeks. Full healing typically takes around 6–8 weeks.
Can I still wear makeup?
Yes, just not on the treated area while it's healing. You can continue wearing makeup on the rest of your face and return to your normal routine once healing is complete.
Can I exercise?
To give your brows the best chance of healing well, it's recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, saunas and anything that causes excessive sweating for around 7–10 days after treatment.
What if I've had Botox?
If you have regular Botox treatments, timing is important. Ideally, Botox should be carried out at least two weeks beforeyour permanent makeup appointment, or you should wait around two weeks afterwards before having Botox. This helps ensure the most accurate design and the best possible result.
