The PMU Reset Bootcamp
Question it. Reset it. Audit it.
A two-day, in-person development programme for qualified PMU artists who want stronger foundations, greater technical confidence and more consistent results.
With Claire Stokes and Jenny Wing
Small-group teaching for 4–6 learners
Grantham, Lincolnshire, UK
£550

Your Training May Have Finished...
But your learning hasn't!
Completing your initial PMU training does not always mean feeling ready for everything that follows.
You may understand the theory but still question your technique. You may struggle to identify why your healed results are inconsistent, feel unsure about the decisions you make during treatments or recognise that important areas were missing from your original training.
The PMU Reset Bootcamp has been created to help you step back, examine the way you currently work and rebuild the foundations that support safe, confident and considered practice.
It is not another treatment-specific masterclass or a collection of techniques to copy.
It is an opportunity to understand what you are doing, why you are doing it and how to make better decisions when a treatment does not go exactly to plan.
Is The PMU Reset For You?
The bootcamp is designed for qualified PMU artists who are newly trained, generally within their first two years, or who feel that gaps in their original education are now affecting their confidence or results.
It may be right for you if:
-
You regularly second-guess your machine settings or movements.
-
Your healed results are inconsistent.
-
You understand the theory but struggle to apply it in practice.
-
You are unsure whether problems are caused by your technique, equipment, treatment planning or decision-making.
-
You want honest, constructive feedback in a supportive environment.
-
You have completed additional courses but still feel that something is missing.
-
You want to strengthen your overall practice rather than learn another isolated treatment technique.
-
You need a clearer plan for your technical and business development.
The PMU Reset is professional development for trained practitioners. It does not replace recognised foundation training or provide a beginner PMU qualification.
2 Days. One Complete Reset.
2 Days with the potential to change your business and future career
-
Day One concentrates on the professional knowledge, client decisions and business foundations that support every treatment.
-
Day Two moves into structured practical work, helping you understand the fundamental machine movements, transferable skills and variables used across brows, lips and eyeliner. Learn the foundations that you can use on any area of your work
Throughout both days, you will be encouraged to question your current methods, identify gaps and develop a more considered and repeatable approach.
Day 1:
Professional Confidence and Real-World Decision-Making

Day One looks beyond performing the treatment itself.
Together, we will examine the standards, decisions and systems that influence client safety, treatment suitability, healed results and the long-term development of your business. Let's be honest, if you can't build a business and work in a professional and most importantly, hygienic and safe manner, success will not follow.
Module One: Safety and Professional Standards
Revisit the professional responsibilities that protect your clients, your business and your reputation.
Topics include:
-
Hygiene and infection prevention
-
Cross-contamination and contamination pathways
-
Personal protective equipment
-
Safe clinic and workstation setup
-
Cleaning, disinfection and waste management
-
Contraindications and treatment suitability
-
Consultation and medical-history assessment
-
Documentation, consent and professional boundaries
-
Skin considerations and healing potential
-
Professional standards and practitioner accountability
The aim is not simply to remember a set of rules. It is to understand how and why those standards apply within real treatments.
Module Two: The Client Journey
Explore the decisions that take place from the first client enquiry through to healed-result review.
Topics include:
-
Managing enquiries and initial expectations
-
Conducting a meaningful consultation
-
Identifying suitable and unsuitable clients
-
Communicating realistic outcomes
-
Treatment planning
-
Colour and pigment considerations
-
Mapping and design decisions
-
Adapting the treatment to the individual
-
Preparing clients for the healing process
-
Providing clear and realistic aftercare
-
Reviewing healed results
-
Identifying why a result may not have healed as expected
-
Managing concerns, corrections and difficult conversations
This module will help you look at the client journey as one connected process rather than a series of separate appointments.
Module Three: Growing & Sustaining Your Business
Technical ability alone does not automatically create a successful or sustainable PMU business.
This module focuses on the practical foundations that support professional growth.
Topics include:
-
Understanding Your Business
-
Spotting gaps and areas to improve
-
Pricing with confidence
-
Strengthening policies and boundaries
-
Improving bookings and the client experience
-
Photographing and presenting your work honestly
-
Building a trustworthy portfolio
-
Choosing the right development opportunities
-
Setting realistic priorities
-
Creating your action plan
You will finish Day One with a clearer understanding of what needs to change and where your attention will have the greatest impact.

Day 2:
Practical Confidence, Transferable Techniques & Skill Building

Day Two concentrates on the fundamental machine movements and practical variables used throughout permanent makeup.
Rather than watching full treatment demonstrations, you will work through structured latex and practice-mat exercises designed to isolate individual elements of technique.
This allows you to make controlled changes, observe the result and understand why it changed.
Practical areas include:
-
Workstation, machine and body positioning
-
Improving machine control and stability
-
Understanding the key factors that affect implantation
-
Developing consistent movement and saturation
-
Adapting techniques for different treatment areas and finishes
-
Making more confident needle and colour choices
-
Recognising and correcting common problems
-
Structured practical exercises
-
Individual assessment, correction and feedback
-
and much more...
The purpose of Day Two is not to give you a universal voltage, depth or formula to follow.
It is to help you understand how your machine, hand movement, needle, pigment and working surface interact so that you can make more informed decisions for yourself.

"Change one variable. Observe the result. Understand why it changed. Repeat it with control."
How The Bootcamp Will
Be Taught...
The PMU Reset has been structured around adult learning and practical professional development.
It is not designed as a large classroom presentation where information is delivered and everyone is expected to learn in the same way.
The group will be limited to 4–6 practitioners, allowing Claire and Jenny to observe how each person works and provide specific, individual feedback.
Before the bootcamp
You will complete a pre-course questionnaire and
practical self-assessment.
This will help us understand:
-
Your previous training and experience
-
The treatments you currently offer
-
The equipment and products you use
-
The areas in which you feel confident
-
The areas you find most difficult
-
The results or situations you regularly struggle with
-
What you want to achieve from the two days
During the bootcamp
Teaching will include:
-
Clear and concise explanations
-
Guided group discussion
-
Realistic treatment scenarios
-
Practical problem-solving
-
Evidence-led troubleshooting
-
Demonstration of movements and exercises
-
Structured practice activities
-
Individual tutor observation
-
Immediate correction and feedback
-
Opportunities to ask questions throughout
-
Reflection and action planning
Practical exercises will focus on one variable at a time, making it easier to understand cause and effect and develop movements that can be repeated with greater control.
You will not be expected to perform for the group or keep pace with other learners. The purpose is to identify what you need and help you make useful, achievable changes.

Meet Your Mentors
Claire Stokes
Claire is an experienced clinician, permanent makeup artist, educator, assessor and internal quality assurer.
She has worked within beauty and aesthetics for approximately 30 years and has taught in further education and private training since 2001.
Claire’s approach is calm, methodical and centred on strong foundations. Her teaching encourages practitioners to understand the reasoning behind their decisions rather than relying on copied techniques or universal formulas.
Jenny Wing
Jenny is an experienced PMU artist and educator who brings practical industry knowledge, honest discussion and supportive guidance to the bootcamp.
Together, Claire and Jenny are the voices behind PMU Real Talk: a straightforward approach to PMU education, professional development and the realities of building a sustainable career.

Real talk. Real skills. Real business. Real results.
Do I need to be qualified in permanent makeup?
Yes. The PMU Reset is professional development for trained PMU practitioners. It does not replace foundation training or provide an initial PMU qualification.
Is the bootcamp only suitable for brow artists?
No. The practical day focuses on transferable machine movements and principles that can be adapted across brows, lips and eyeliner.
Will we work on live models?
No. Day Two is deliberately based around controlled latex and practice-mat exercises.
This allows you to isolate individual movements, repeat techniques and observe the effect of changing specific variables without the pressure of completing a live treatment.
Will there be full treatment demonstrations?
No. The practical day is not designed around watching complete brow, lip or eyeliner treatments.
Demonstrations will concentrate on specific movements, machine control, implantation principles and practical exercises so that more time can be spent developing your own technique.
How large will the group be?
Each bootcamp will be limited to approximately 4–6 learners. This allows time for individual observation, correction, questions and feedback.
What should I bring?
A complete preparation and equipment list will be provided before the bootcamp. You will be asked to bring your usual PMU machine and the relevant equipment needed for practical exercises.
Will lunch be provided?
Yes. Lunch and refreshments are included on both days.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. You will receive a certificate of attendance for your continuing professional-development records.
What happens after the two days?
You will begin The PMU Audit, a structured 12-week period of reflection, implementation and accountability. You will also receive continued support as you apply the learning within your own practice.
